Anja Kirschner (b. 1977) specializes in movies and video making, and her pieces are visual collages of many styles and sources. Her works are often politically motivated and typically refer to historical or contemporary dramas (e.g. Britain’s first financial crisis in 1720 and the modern crisis in Greece). In her drawing as part of The Emblem Collection, she returns specifically to that former historical time. She presents a semi-abstraction that references her videography, which layers and connects different artifacts.
