Marie Lukáčová (b.1991) is a Czech born mix-media artist focusing most recently on video art, video essay and short movie creation. Her topics reach from new technologies to society and gender stereotyping. She is also an active member of a feminist based group called Čtvrtá vlna (Fourth wave), which actively stands against stereotyping, social gabs or discrimination of minorities. The movie stills in The Emblem Collection from Gizd i Zgarb represent one of the film’s motives - a body in different changing shapes. This video mixes documentary, fiction and animated elements, and together they make up the story of two girls who formed from Amalita phalloides, or Mongolia green – a lethal poisonous mushroom. It is the mycotic base of these two protagonists that prevents them from being classified into the patriarchal system. Their human form is undetermined, as it is only temporary and changeable. The collage-like approach of the movie seems to be indebted to the European political collage tradition.
