David Krňanský’s work plays with non-creativity and automatization, neglecting the principals of originality and “artist as god” creations. Krňanský (b. 1987) learns from the simple things happening in daily life, or in this case, in daily light. Four pieces purchased for The Emblem Collection are collage-like paintings that use the background as a repetitive pattern, which can change in the blink of eye. The artist works with this image instability. His pictures are airy and have the impression of light coming through a window with objects captured on the background in motion.
