Alison Mcneil
Head Interior Designer
Alison McNeil had not even visited Prague before she was approached to create the design concept for The Emblem Hotel. Drawing from an aspirational view of a city she had never seen, McNeil managed to create a pure design that perfectly aligned with how we see this city. She captured the romantic, earthy yet reserved nature of Prague and contained it within a historical yet modern space.
Her design inspiration ranged from the structuralism of the 1920’s film Metropolis to Kepler’s polygons and Tycho Brahe’s astrological drawings; her philosophy centred on the idea of a traditional household; and so, she fused these ideas to create modern, livable yet creative spaces. In the end, McNeil transformed the building into a unique atmosphere that combines our dedication to historic materials, classic details and simplicity with our desire to make everyone feel at home.
