Letná & Holešovice, Prague beyond the Old Town.
Old Town Prague is extraordinary, but it is not where most Praguers spend their lives. Head north across the river and the city changes quickly. Letná gives you broad parkland and some of the best views over Prague's bridges; neighbouring Holešovice mixes former industrial buildings with galleries, cafés and creative spaces.
Start in Letná Park and walk towards the Metronome for the river panorama. From there drift east into Holešovice. The headline cultural stop is DOX Centre for Contemporary Art, a former industrial site whose rooftop wooden airship has become an unlikely neighbourhood landmark.
Follow this one loosely rather than as a checklist. Stop when somewhere looks interesting, have a beer, browse a shop, and give yourself permission to spend an afternoon without another medieval tower in sight.
