Vasilij Kandinskij: Circle and Spot @ National Gallery

29. 06 2017 - 31. 12 2017

The exhibition of international art of the 20th and 21st centuries on the first floor of the Trade Fair Palace now presents a unique loan. The rare painting is displayed next to the works by Paul Klee and Aristarkh Vasilyevich Lentulov.

Kandinsky, one of the best-known 20th-century painters, was born in Moscow but moved to Germany after World War I, where he worked until 1933. It was in Germany that he did his Circle and Spot. Fleeing from Nazism, he left for France, where he lived until his death. His key artworks are associated with the Bauhaus movement and are characteristic especially for sharp geometric forms.
