The First Republic – Czechoslovakia was a state formed after WW1, in autumn 1918, after the fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It was founded thanks to the top Czech politicians lead by the future President Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk. In the twenties, it belonged to the top ten industrial powers in the world. This early stability paved the way for a flowering of Czech literature and culture. In this period, the Czech Radio started broadcasting; the Czechs experienced a boom in film production.
This exhibition will lead visitors on a journey through this period, consisting of 13 thematic sections (incl. film industry, art, fashion, sport, politics, business and more). For more info, head over the website here.
