Richard Parry's Remember Peter Tosh comes from the same time period as his “Obey” collection, which uses afro and music motifs for sometimes almost abstract compositions. Richard Parry (born Hull, 1983) is not only a visual artist, but he is also very involved in music – especially Jazz. His work is comprised of album covers or painted words implicitly stating such. The landscape and the role of the artist in a globalized society have also been important themes for the artist throughout his career. Exhibitions of Parry’s work have travelled throughout Europe, Africa and the United Kingdom, and include major exhibitions at The Institute of Social Hypocrisy, Paris; Christie’s auctioneers and the MOT gallery London.
