Georg Bohle

Reception Panel

In Bohle’s own words, “The underlying face of a city can be uncanny, sinister or even menacing. This thought formed the starting point of a drawing research [project] towards the ambivalent circumstances in cities and urban agglomerations.”

For the main piece in our Study, we chose to commission Dutch artist George Bohle to expand his drawing project and create a breath-taking and graphic representation of an imaginary city based on Prague. Bohle uses contrasts, conversions and specific attributes of existing cities as material to develop imaginary city landscapes, so with Prague as his inspiration, the artist created the impressive drawing that now hangs in The Emblem.
