Starting as a single piece measuring 5 x 1.3 m, “Monument” is a series of five drawings, each of which decorates one of five floors at The Emblem Hotel. The illustrators, Tomski&Polanski, are generally inspired by Prague as a city full of heritage and inspiration: the old buildings, churches, temples, streets, etc. They incorporated all this into “Monument,” making it a type of levitating island full of details and optical illusions inspired by the feverish atmosphere that the city inspires.

The whole process from creating the idea and preparing the proposal to the drawing work itself lasted more than three months, and the piece contains an immense quantity of graphite of different degrees of hardness.
